Useful Information for schools and parents

WHAT AREA'S DO YOU COVER?

We cover a 50 mile driving distance from Barton upon Humber (DN18).

HOW OLD DO THE CHILDREN NEED TO BE TO TAKE PART?

Children need to be age 5 or above. All children must have the ability to follow health and safety rules.

DO YOU HAVE RISK ASSESSMENTS AND DBS CERTIFICATES?

Yes if you require a copy of our risk assessments please email us.

All staff have DBS certificates and will bring it with them on the day. 

DO YOU HAVE COVID-19 MEASURES IN PLACE?

All staff will be wearing PPE, keeping their distance and washing hands. Staff will also remain in the same room throughout the day to reduce movement around schools where possible. 


The equipment will be sanitised after each use and tables will be washed with a disinfectant regularly.


To limit contact at parties. Parents will be asked to leave excluding the hosts. The number of children is limited to 15 ideally from the same school. Presenters will only be doing one party a week to prevent moving around locations. 

DO YOU PROVIDE LAB COATS AND SAFETY GLASSES?

Children will be provided safety glasses due to health and safety. Lab coats are only provided for children's parties.

IS THERE ANYTHING WE NEED TO PROVIDE?

Yes we require tables, access to water and electricity. Everything a standard classroom has!

HOW LONG ARE THE WORKSHOPS?

All workshops are designed to be 50 minutes however our states of matter and polymers workshops can be reduced to 30 minutes. By reducing the time of the workshops the children will only do 50% of the experiments. The changeover time remains the same.

If you require a longer 90 minute workshop our states of matter can be combined with either the volcanoes or polymers workshops. 

HOW LONG DO YOU NEED TO SET UP/ CLEAN DOWN?

We require 30 minutes before/after school workshops and parties.

HOW LONG DO YOU NEED BETWEEN CLASSES?

A minimum of 15 minutes to allow us to clean the equipment and tables.

CAN I MAKE CHANGES TO MY BOOKING?

Most changes can easily be made with a notice period of 3 or more days. Please just email us and we will be more than happy to assist you.

HOW DO I CANCEL MY BOOKING AND WILL I GET A REFUND?

You can cancel a booking by emailing us. A full refund is given should you cancel within 48 hrs of making a booking. A cancellation fee of £100 applies for all bookings cancelled in under 28 days of the event. Full payment is required should you cancel in under 7 days of the event date.
